Leicester Hope Hack
The Leicester Hope Hack invited young people from communities across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to come together to develop solutions to issues affecting young people in society. Over 85 young people attended the event and took part in workshops on topics chosen by them which included: Gender; Access to Opportunities; Tailoring Services to Meet the Needs of Young People; Poverty and Inequality; Race and Diversity and Mental Health. The event was organised with young people from the outset and they also led the day itself including the hosting, a panel that consisted of young people discussing the topics above, a rap performance by a local young person and workshops facilitated by and for young people. The young people presented their solutions to local decision makers from across the VRN partnership to influence local change as well as National change through the Reimagined Manifesto.
